Taboolicious is the project lead and all art related work for Almastriga, a classic metroidvania game where you play as Jane, a cursed woman at odds against a great evil that wants to use her as a vessel to cross into the world’s dimensional plane and take it over. However, Jane quickly realizes the curse isn’t all bad. As players, they’re not really big fans of pointless one-off NPCs. That’s why they want to make sure every NPC they introduce into the game serves a purpose. There are currently 6 planned NPCs who will each offer Jane special services from which to strengthen herself and ease her fight against the evil forces hellbent on her capture. The game is in pretty heavy alpha and is in no way representative of the final product. They’re trying to get together a demo that shows off all aspects of Almastriga while also creating a solid test environment as they refine the combat system, implement new features, and design the game’s various enemies.
