The ADHD Sewist is Rowan. Before embarking on their historical costuming journey, they spent four years designing and creating costumes (or garb) for contact foam games they play. One day they found themselves pondering the intricacies of historical costume and thought, “Can I make this historically accurate?” Thus began a year-long rabbit hole of conducting research, gathering supplies, and spending (arguably too much) time creating a plan for how they would make historically accurate garb. While these games they play may be medieval inspired games, they decided that was not the era they would begin with, and that they’d rather create costumes spanning entire centuries, and work their way back in the process. They hope their friends will accompany them on this journey.
