Toolbox Finance

Toolbox Finance is a team of financial analysts led by Drillbit. One key benefit that Drillbit provides the team is his access to senior management of his coverage list. Drillbit can get on the phone and talk directly with the executives of his companies, a privilege he has built over his tenured career as a publishing analyst. Drillbit has over 30 years of experience writing research on several sectors of the stock market including semiconductors and semiconductor capital equipment. He’s provided his research to institutional clients on wall street. Some institutional clients pay tens of thousands of dollars every quarter for his research. He has worked for multiple investment banks over his 30 year career and now runs a small consulting business. Drillbit holds a MBA and a bachelors degree in finance. Drillbit’s personal portfolio has had an CAGR return of 22% over the last 13 years and his portfolio is up over 31% year to date. Drillbit’s coverage universe for the Toolbox will focus on semiconductors and semiconductor capital equipment and will initially include ON, NXPI, MU, SWKS, QRVO, AMAT, LRCX, TER, ASML, ASX and TSEM and will expand over time to other names as we see attractive investment opportunities. We believe investing in major themes or changes in technology is a great way to drive strong returns over time and with this in mind we feel the migration to 5G handsets and infrastructure, the electrification of automobiles and the growth of cloud computing and services are three major investment themes we will focus on over the next 10 years to drive out-performance and superior investment returns and many of the names we cover will have ties to these thre major investment themes. We are entering the golden age of semiconductors and we expect strong growth across the board over the next 10 years as semiconductors are used in a growing number of important applications. These include the cloud, electric and autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, and storing and analyzing all of the data created by billions of people and IoT devices. This is on top of other important markets such as PCs, servers, mobile phones, automotive and industrial and consumer markets. The adoption of semiconductors in these new markets plus robust demand from the current markets should drive sustainable unit volume growth of near 10% in the semiconductor market over the next decade up from around 6% historically. With a gold rush going on in the semiconductor segment of the market driving strong unit volume growth, the capital equipment used to make semiconductors, or in this case the picks and shovels to mine the gold, is also seeing dramatic growth. The wafer fab equipment market has grown from the $40 billion range annually several years ago to over $85 billion in 2021 and is expected to be around $95-$100 billion in 2022. The other members of the team include screwdriver and hammer. Scrdriver specializes in stocks in the Electrical vehicle market and rare earth materials/mining. Including QS, CREE, and PLUG. Hammer specializes in stocks in the cloud services market and retail market including FSLY, VZ, MSFT, DOCU, and JOAN. All content flows through Drillbit, as he is the most veteran member of the team. Together they form the Toolbox. They provide their patrons with detailed fundamental and technical analysis of stocks and other securities. They spendmany hours digging through quarterly financial releases, investor relations spreadsheets, 8k & 10q forms, conference calls, and news articles to summarize these markets for you. Besides just providing time saving research, they also have direct lines to the executives of some of the companies they cover, so they can ask questions directly to the people in charge; access like this is difficult or impossible to get for many retail investors. The toolbox also creates more generalized content on what makes a company a good investment, when to invest in a good company, and how to form an investment thesis. In short, they provide detailed and accurate fundamental and technical analysis of stocks and other securities, as well as helping users build a general sense of how to invest in a sustainable way. They have a proven track record of finding profitable growth stocks, value stocks, and fundamentally sound investments. They can help you build a profitable trading or investing strategy.
