Tych Maps is Ian Tucker, a map maker and geographer who is creating fantasy maps and battle maps that support immersive gameplay. They strive to create highly playable maps that work seamlessly in virtual tabletops. They’re done in a simple illustrated style using the Dungeondraft software as well as a host of hand-drawn elements added in. They’re producing maps and assets for virtual tabletop games. These maps are top-down views of locations that you can drop into your homebrew game or to support published adventures. All their maps maintain a well defined and playable grid system and leave space for supporting line of sight and dynamic lighting effects. They hope their maps will inspire you as a DM to create exciting and captivating stories with your players. At the moment, they’re working on recreating the maps from the Dungeon of the Mad Mage, having already finished Waterdeep Dragon Heist. They’re aiming to release new content every week, up to 4 or 5 paid posts per month. You’ll only be charged when they publish a new map and you can remove your pledge at any time. You can also set a limit on how much you would like to pledge each month in the event they’re releasing more often than you’d like to support. As their catalog grows Patrons will receive access to all previous maps and content. All of their maps are designed primarily for use in virtual tabletop (VTT) systems such as Roll20 or Foundry VTT. This includes Roll20 Free files (.jpg images <5MB in size) and Roll20 Paid files (.jpg images <10MB in size) that are exported at 70 or 140 pixels per grid cell to easily scale in Roll20. They also provide Universal VTT files (.dd2vtt) that can be used with Foundry Virtual Tabletop. Foundry VTT files are exported at 100 pixels per grid cell, and include walls, doors, and lighting. All their maps are gridless to not conflict with the grid systems in VTT software.
