Walter Astrada is a photographer who has been traveling and living in many countries for more than 25 years, working for news agencies or producing long-term documentary projects on social and human rights issues. Driven by his desire to experience more of the world, on May 1, 2015, he left from Barcelona with the idea of traveling around the world with his camera and a Royal Enfield, whom he named Athena, to document what he observes while he advances. Since he left Spain, he has visited 34 countries and has traveled over 130,000 kilometers. He seeks to continue with the freedom to travel and photograph by maintaining his independence and showing it directly to you, rather than depending on sponsors. He is lucky to have a community that follows his journey and his work. With your support, he will be able to continue and you will have copies of his photographs to hang on your walls or share with special people in your lives. He profoundly believes in the creation of documentary photography and that everyone should have access whether you are rich or poor, and this is one of the reasons why he will continue to publish his work openly on the website of his journey, but if you become a sponsor, you will have access to videos where he shows how he edits, how he photographs, the behind-the-scenes of when he is working, and you will be able to win individual review and editing sessions of your photographic work. You can also find the Workshop on Storytelling Methodology so that you can follow it at your own pace, without having to wait for him to organize one. You can send him questions once a month from iconic sites of the countries he travels. Mostly a new window to observe the journey that will never end.
