What’s the plot? Lightning struck the Home Tree leaving the whole enchanted island without pixie dust. To survive, the fairies needed to start learning the new wonders, the wonders of reality. Why Disney fairies? Because they like the aesthetics, the style and tastefully chosen colours of the animated movies. But first of all, they admire Tinkerbell and her friends. The main character isnt just another princess. Tink doesnt possess any magical powers; she cant rely on brute force and not on seductive powers either (since fairies are asexual). Her superpowers are wit, intellect and creativity. It’s a real shame that the authors decided to abandon this fruitful fictional universe so early. Is it legal to use not original characters? Yes, it’s called fair use. The works are transformative, don’t claim the authors market share, don’t replace the originals, are educational and uncommercial. Everyone may watch the series for free. Can they really create animated shorts? Yes. Unfortunately, the animation is a costly art. Even a short film requires an immense amount of work: one needs to write a story, check the facts, draw a storyboard, record voice actors, paint backgrounds and textures, construct 3d-models, light the scenes, animate the characters and infographics, compose everything together, then translate and dub the short film into English (as you probably know, their native language is Russian). They would like to do it full time. They’d be glad to bring stories about fairies and popular science to life. Right now, they have to create animation for clients that they don’t really like. They want to try different formats: classic episodes with adventures and short explainers, parodies, funny and serious stories. Some episodes will be animated completely, while others may become just animated storyboards (that would speed thing up). They have many ideas for the next stories. So stay tuned!
