Seif-Eldeine O

Seif-Eldeine O is a Syrian-American poet with a degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Tufts University and an MFA in Poetry from Lesley University. They are a finalist for the Marsh Hawk Poetry Prize, the Etel Adnan First Book Contest, and the Fine Arts Workshop Fellowship, a program that has produced multiple Pulitzer Prize Winners. They have been published in the Massachusetts Review, Poetdaily, Star 82 Review, and Typehouse Literary Magazine (page 78). They decided to do this because so much of their content was going to waste and they wanted to have a way to monetize it. With so much of their work based around writing, they have to do a lot of reading and the book costs are piling up. One other thing they would like to do is be able to submit to more magazines and writing contests. They have had interest in their work from some high level contests, but in poetry they pay little and the competition is fierce. For instance, the FAWC Fellowship I told you about above is one of the most difficult fellowships to get, and it still only offers room and board and a $700 stipend a month, and there’s no guarantee you will ever win a contest like that. They wish to create a Youtube channel that teaches people how to imitate their favorite poets. For this, they need a high-quality camera (around $100), a graphic designer and they need to take some tutorials on how to create a successful channel, especially around videography. (They may just hire a camera man in the future, too, if they are able to save up the funds.)
