Black Marine is an awarded avant-garde composer who is classically trained in composition, orchestration and piano at The Music Academy in Belgrade, the ELAK Institute Vienna (electro-acoustic composition), STEIM Institute (electronic music workshop where they created an instrument called crackle box) in Amsterdam, and with their ongoing doctorate studies at IPOP, The University of Music and Performing Arts, in Vienna, Austria. From a very early age, they had a natural gift for music and performing arts, so they became proficient in composition and performance, achieving a number of awards, including First Place at the International Competition for Young Composers in Belgrade, Serbia in 1997 organized by National Radio Television Of Serbia RTS. They have written and composed across a wide range of musical styles going from classical to punk, contemporary to electronic, and crossed stylistic boundaries in musical style which resulted with a symphony “Self Command-Self Control” (2010), and an opera “Sea Of Moons” (2013) which had its premire at the Contemporary Music Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2014. Their Debut CD “What If”, has been published the label Mensch from Cologne in 2015. Their composition “Walking in The Air” is on the compilation album for Demerara Records in London in 2015. They are a member of KB (sterreichischer Komponistenbund) and active as a pianist and multimedia performer collaborating with artists from around the world. In 2006 they formed a post punk duo 2 TOTEMS where they played for more than 10 years.
