Blackberry Creek Farm Animal Sanctuary is a place of refuge for animals to live out their lives enjoying kindness, compassion and permanent sanctuary, and opportunities for education to the general public. The founders, Josh and Danielle Hanosh, formed Blackberry Creek Farm Animal Sanctuary in 2014, and it is currently the home of over 85 animals including donkeys, chickens, turkeys, cats, pigs, dogs, sheep, goats, llamas, cows, ducks, a guinea fowl and a tortoise. After working in public education for many years, the founders saw a glaring need for both children and animals to be better valued and cared for in a society that all too often failed them. Josh and Danielle originally volunteered at Leilani Farm Sanctuary in Maui before adopting plant-based diets and creating a farm sanctuary in Northern California. Now Blackberry Creek rescues animals from neglect, abuse, and slaughter, and teaches people that they, like the animals, can heal from their difficult pasts and move forward into bright futures where they are respected, valued and loved.
