Homemade Documentaries is Jackson Tyler, a student at the University of Pittsburgh. Since they were 16 years old, they have been uploading documentary films to the internet. Their fascination is in world history, science, and space. While they are on track to earn a degree that may one day allow them to work on this professionally, they continue to assemble together films and build experience towards improving and perfecting their craft. Ultimately, they just want to be able to tell the best stories in the most captivating ways possible. They do not monetize their content on YouTube, and they do not plan to. Nothing they produce on their own time will ever be locked behind a paywall. These films are, in every sense of the word — home made. They have a tight circle of friends that help them by contributing their time and attention, feedback, and the occasional bit of artwork…but the script, narration, and editing are all their own. That is their voice you hear, for better or worse! There are no corporate sponsors or entities supporting their work. This Patreon exists for one reason and one reason only — to help them continue to make more and better films for you. They cannot offer much in the way of exclusive content apart from the occasional bit of raw footage, but they can promise you this: not a single cent donated to this page will be used for their own personal gain or expenditure. They pledge to be fully transparent and publish expense reports — and will only use the funds generated to license music and, most importantly — acquire better film from private vendors and/or the National Archives. Give them the tools, and they’ll finish the job.
