The Illinois Eagle is an online newspaper that covers the LGBTQ communities of Illinois and national news that affects them. They do the work as a labor of love, but to serve the state like it deserves, they need help. It costs in both time and money to go to events, keep up the website and reach out to everyone. They spend their own money for equipment (cameras, smartphones, etc.) and supplies (gas, pens, paper, batteries, etc.). They can’t do it alone. So they’re asking for help. Think of it as LGBTQ public radio. For less than a beer at a bar, you can help them serve the state. What you give will help play for gas, batteries, allow them to upgrade their equipment, improve their hosting and social media, and allow them, maybe, to start paying their staff. Maybe not pay them what they’re really worth, but at least show them that what they do is valued. So please, donate what you can and help give Illinois the kind of publication and representation it deserves.
