KLB Research is Dr. Karen Blair. They have been conducting research aimed at improving the lives and well-being of LGBTQ individuals and their families for more than 15 years. They are raising funds to support adding a post-doctoral research fellow to the lab. The fellow will work on research related to sexual prejudice and trans prejudice, focusing on how various ideologies predict not only prejudice but acting on prejudice in violent ways. The fellow they are recruiting lives outside of Canada and is therefore limited in the types of external funding fellowships that they can apply for. Additionally, they live in a country where conducting LGBTQ research puts not only their career but also their safety, in jeopardy. Thus, they’re doing their very best to find some support to help bring them to the lab here in Canada so that they can embark on the next stage of their career in LGBTQ research.
