Kris Halpin

Kris Halpin is Dyskinetic, a singer/songwriter and disabled person. They are also known for playing an extraordinary, futuristic instrument known as MiMu Gloves. The brainchild of Grammy Award winning genius Imogen Heap, they’re the first disabled person to use them as an accessible instrument. Kris Halpin has toured all over the world as a solo artist, performing with the gloves. Along the way they’ve had an amazing conversation about music, technology and disability. They soon realised that the conversation *around* their work was bigger and more important than anything they could ever do alone. This conversation needed to be an entity to itself, so Dyskinetic was born. Kris Halpin was busy working on a new album, and they were really excited about it. They also had ambitious plans to explore the conversation in ways that songs don’t serve. First up would be a [podcast](https://www. dyskinetic.com/benefits/), with guests from different parts of the music/technology/disability conversation. They’ve got some great guests provisionally lined up, subject to time and expense. There are also plans for a [YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcFORyfW8rv7933p1XgSwsQ) and visual artworks (another return to earlier roots, they spent 3 years in art college) – it’s going to be a wide, loud, living breathing thing.
