M. is a non-binary, queer, trans-masculine individual who is a queer kin creator dedicated to bringing safety, connection, and art to children and adults who are LGBTQIA+. They are committed to giving 10% of monthly Patreon donations and of the sale of published books to the Shawi Children of Peru and the Sicangu Oyate (Rosebud Sioux Tribe), and to a nonprofit that centers LGBTQIA+ children, by popular vote of patrons at the end of each month. About Me is just getting started on a new direction in their studio work, having laid the groundwork for two different picture books for LGBTQIA+ children. They will spend the next two years developing the illustrations for those books and working to create published editions and prints for sale. They intend to create experiences in these books and prints that serve as sources of comfort, connection, and identity, as well as doorways into building relationship with the natural world. M.’s journey to themselves across the years has been rooted in chosen family and the natural world, and by many elders of indigenous traditions that they have had the opportunity to learn from – they have learned who they are by learning who they are.
