O Caminheiro de Sintra is Miguel Boim. At night, any gentle rustling turned into the idea that someone was there. In the dark, when he was a teenager, over the months and years, he became aware of the language, the sounds of the Serra. He gradually conquered space on what would come to be his magical world. It all started in the first Serra de Sintra nights when the Serra was very much in abandonment. In the years that followed, curiosity about who had walked in the Serra arose, as did the History. He allowed himself to be seduced by the legends, until he realized that History was much richer in imagination than the culture born between people. All this happened in the 1990s.In 2007, he created a blog that was called O Caminheiro de Sintra, wanting to share the memories of those nights. With time, the memories transformed into a deep investigation of the History of Sintra. And thus, O Caminheiro de Sintra began to take shape. In the last 10 years he started to spread the fantastic History of Sintra through articles published in the Journal of Sintra (over 50, faithful to their sources), as well as on the blog, in chapters of books, and in books. with special emphasis on Sintra Lenda – Histories and Legends of the Mount of the Moon. But the truth is that in a country like Portugal, culture always ends up being left to one of the last places. And it’s that which happens with me: I’m not capable of ceasing to write the articles that I write, publish images of a past Serra de Sintra that I know, to connect with the people who love Sintra, without anything in return. Nevertheless, it is necessary to eat, have a roof over your head – and work – under it. And even so, as mentioned, I’m not capable of ceasing to produce what I produce, of wanting people to feel this insacivel fascination when they are fascinated by the human beings who walked here, who lived here, who felt here. And, believe me, no one recognizes my work as much as the people who have followed it for years.
