Patrick K. Walsh

Patrick K. Walsh is the host of ScreamQueenz. It’s a twice-monthly look at the weird and wonderful world of horror movies as seen through his very, very gay eyes. Killer reviews, off-beat comedy and unforgettable guests. “It’s gonna be fucking fabulous!” Growing up gay and a horror fan was a curious combination. He tended to see aspects of his favorite scary movies in a different way than his friends did. He appreciated them for very different reasons. When podcasting became a thing, he devoured all the horror podcasts that were available. While he enjoyed hearing other genre geeks discuss these movies, he heard the same opinions and ideas over and over again, and they usually differed greatly from his. His goal with the show has always been to offer a fresh way to look at the genre in a light, off-beat and campy manner. The Friday the 13th Spectacular for example is his most popular segment, because he doesn’t just talk about the movie. He recounts personal stories of seeing the films first run and how he became “The Weird Kid” as a result. While he does cover the classics and new releases, he’s made it a point in special segments like The Nightmare Closet and Made-For-TV Mayhem to cover the lesser known movies that scarred his childhood and made him into the horror-hungry homo he is today. He’s also driven to be the first find the Next Big Thing. The Crapshoot segment randomly picks a movie out of the vast sea of independent direct-to-video films in search of a “diamond in the shit pile.” The goal it to offer a fresh way to look at the genre in a light, off-beat and campy manner.
