Pharr From Heaven is Eduardo Martinez from Neta RGV. They started writing in the Rio Grande Valley originally on Yahoo Groups under the name RGV Observer in 2003. They continued writing and eventually launched the Pharr From Heaven blog in 2009. They tend to focus their writing on very specific interests of them: barrio history, the Rio Grande Valley, professional wrestling, conjunto music, organizing history, critiques of non-profit organizations, sports, issues affecting poor and working class communities, the Texas Farm Workers Union, LGBTQ history and issues, and analysis of the world they live in. During the past 10 years they have written for The Monitor newspaper, the Festiva magazine, She Shreds magazine, Neta RGV, The Gotch Special, been featured on Texas Monthly, and worked on a variety of other projects including co-organizing Aqui Estamos RGV, Curando RGV, and as the photographer for Fuerza del Valle Workers Center.
