The Shorpy photo archive has been posting historic images online since 2007. Their holdings include hundreds of glass and film negatives/transparencies that they’ve scanned themselves. Many other photos on their site were extracted from reference images in the Library of Congress research archive. They’ve reached over 24,000 images and share daily. They also sell prints.
