Tom Taggart is making things. Back when he was a kid, Kellogg’s had a contest every year where you sent in drawings of your favorite Kellogg’s character eating breakfast and selected entries would win prizes. He drew Toucan Sam and Tony the Tiger eating in a row boat surrounded by sharks and he won a 10 speed bike. He says that was the official beginning of his glorious art career. Since then, he has worked as an illustrator, doing 3-D covers for Marvel, DC Comics, Dark Horse, Topps and even LucasFilm Arts. His work has graced the covers of such titles as Batman, Swamp Thing, Doom Patrol, and Animal Man just to name a few. He’s worked in the toy industry, fabricating prototypes for such companies as McFarlane Toys. He’s built mini-golf courses, worked on movie sets, painted murals, and now … well, now he tries as much as he can to just do his own thing. He lives off his own work, much of which can be found in his ETSY shop.
